HVAC Services in Lakeview, New Orleans
Lakeview homes ask a lot from their air conditioning. Whether you live in a historic bungalow or a newly elevated home, we provide expert A/C repair, installation, and heating solutions tailored for your neighborhood.
Why Lakeview Homes Have Unique HVAC Needs
Finding reliable HVAC services in Lakeview New Orleans requires a contractor who understands the local landscape. Lakeview sits beautifully between Lake Pontchartrain and City Park. Consequently, humidity is the main enemy here. Your air conditioner must lower temperatures while aggressively removing moisture.
Furthermore, if your system shuts off too quickly, the home may feel cool but remain sticky and musty. This is why proper sizing and airflow are absolutely critical in this area. Specifically, a system that is perfectly sized will run long enough to properly dehumidify your living space.
Many systems in this area are also reaching the end of their lives. If your home was rebuilt right after 2005, your equipment is likely aging. Therefore, repairs will become more frequent. We are here to provide honest guidance on whether to repair or replace your unit.

Explore A/C Repair →A/C Installation
We begin with a strict load calculation based on your home's layout, rather than guessing. Getting the size right is the absolute foundation of comfort and efficiency.
Explore Installation →Ductwork Services
Leaky or crushed ducts in a hot attic waste massive amounts of cooling. We evaluate, repair, and install new ductwork to guarantee perfect airflow delivery.
Explore Ductwork →Heating Repair & Install
Winters here are short, but a failing heating system is a serious problem. We expertly repair furnaces and heat pumps to ensure year-round indoor comfort.
Explore Heating →Whole-Home Dehumidifiers
If your home stays humid even when the A/C runs, a whole-home dehumidifier is the ultimate solution. These units connect directly to your ductwork for maximum effect.
Explore Dehumidifiers →Smart Thermostats
We check compatibility, install C-wires when needed, and configure smart thermostats perfectly for heat pumps and multi-stage systems to save you energy.
Explore Thermostats →HVAC by Lakeview Home Type
Because Lakeview mixes many eras of construction, the best approach depends heavily on your house. According to Energy.gov guidelines, cooling efficiency relies heavily on structural compatibility.
-
Early 20th Century Bungalows
These historic homes were built long before central air existed. Therefore, they often have tight attics. We work with the structure, sometimes utilizing ductless mini-splits for seamless additions.
-
Mid-Century Ranch Homes
These homes feature attic-mounted air handlers. Because attic temperatures soar in summer, any duct leak costs you heavily. We often recommend duct sealing during system replacement.
-
Elevated & Rebuilt Homes
Elevated construction changes where equipment goes. Good installation planning accounts for access, support, and drainage so that routine maintenance remains highly practical and safe.
Preparing Your Lakeview HVAC for Hurricane Season
Lakeview homeowners know exactly why storm preparation matters. Taking a few proactive steps can protect your expensive equipment and significantly shorten your recovery time after severe weather.
First, always have your system serviced before the season starts. Additionally, consider installing surge protection to defend against power spikes when the grid returns. Finally, if your unit was exposed to flooding, do not turn it on! Operating flooded HVAC equipment is incredibly dangerous.

Who provides HVAC services in Lakeview, New Orleans?
Zees Air Conditioning provides expert A/C repair, installation, heating, ductwork, dehumidifier, and thermostat services to Lakeview homeowners. We are a fully licensed Louisiana contractor (License #79676).
How much does AC repair cost in Lakeview?
Our repair services start from just $150. The final price ultimately depends on what is specifically wrong with your system. We guarantee to give you a clear, transparent price before any work actually begins.
How long does an air conditioner last in New Orleans?
Many systems last roughly 12 to 20 years, heavily depending on installation quality and maintenance. However, constant use in a humid climate can shorten that range, making regular maintenance absolutely vital.
My house feels humid even with the AC running. Why?
The air conditioner removes humidity only while it runs. If a system is oversized, it will cool the house too fast and shut off before removing moisture. A whole-home dehumidifier is often the perfect fix for this exact issue.
What should I do if my AC was exposed to flooding?
Do not run it under any circumstances until it has been professionally inspected. Water trapped in wiring, controls, or ducts can create severe safety hazards. Call us immediately and we will safely advise you.
Do you offer duct cleaning services?
No, we do not provide duct cleaning. However, we expertly handle ductwork repair, relocation, sealing, and new installation, along with everything else related to your home's HVAC system.
